Last week I was approached by the Goldsmiths Student union magazine to write an article about a subject of my choosing. I felt that this was an opportunity to speak about my final project. I set myself the task of summing up the project in a simple communicable way.
Today I had a meeting with the Senior editor of the magazine, who gave me detailed specific feedback about my first draft. I was asked to restructure the piece and provide a brief introduction to game activism design (by way of examples) to make the content a little more accessible. She also recommended that I should try to describe the project in a less formal way to fit with the sort of casual readers the magazine will be expecting.
This meeting was a great lesson for me in how to communicate my project simply and shows me that I should carefully consider my reader (audience) when I am writing about Modern Cocoa Farmer, whether on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or on www.moderncocoafarmer.org
