Renzo Martens and the Institute for Human Activities’ “A New Settlement”

These sculptures were made in river clay in the Congo and then 3d scanned and turned into chocolate sculptures in Belgium. These pieces of art were then sold with a 7000% increase in the amount the worker is paid.  This money was paid back to the worker. This I believe highlights a massive inequality in the systems and structures through which commodities flow.   The art market verses the chocolate industry.
