I was a camera operator on these videos for the Independent Cinema Office’s ‘The Cinema of Ideas’. Curated and directed by documentary filmmaker Kateryna Pavlyuk , these videos are from ‘Feast from the East’, a film programme, ‘dinner-table’ discussion and cooking workshop celebrating the rich film and food culture of Eastern Europe.

Kickstarter video edit for ‘BETTER’, a short fiction film about disability, ableism and sibling relationships.
20% of the population is disabled, and yet disabled people make up just 8.2% of characters on screen. By funding ‘BETTER’, you’re actively changing the kinds of stories which make it to our screens.
This campaign surpassed it’s funding target by 50% raising £15,000 and became a Kick starter staff pick! To find out more about the project click the link below.

During the lock down I created a series of videos for the multinational interfaith charity, The Faith & Belief Forum’s first online fundraising gala. This involved COVID-safe socially distanced filming and creative use of archive. The Faith & Belief Forum believes that intolerance has no place in our communities and that diversity adds value.

HOME IS
NOT JUST A PLACE
This film is a timely and intimate portrait of issues faced by a community of British Asian women. It reveals a delicate, yet strong mutual local support network. We feel the tensions around assimilation and between generations. The long-term impact of forced migration to and settlement in the UK is explored through performance and conversation. ‘Home Is’ a balancing act between acceptance and cultural heritage.
Home Is has been used in an NHS GP training context and has helped BAWA secure government funding to support it’s members with digital inclusion.
